3. Ellen Brandt

Ellen Brandt was a member of the United States Armed Forces who lost her lower left arm during her service to her county. She finds her way on to this list as, to the audience, her Extremis form was her default form and the form in which she consistently appeared on screen. When she became an amputee, Aldrich Killian approached her to trial his experimental Extremis virus. Brandt endured the pain of her infusion with Extremis long enough for her body to accept it and she watched her arm grow back as a result (a fellow trial subject was not so lucky - he exploded in her vicinity). She recovered completely and, armed with her new powers, became a servant of Killian's. She was super-strong, super-durable and able to heal from damage in seconds. He was also able to emit blasts of powerful heat energy from her body and was treating Tony Stark (sans armour, mind you) like a rag doll. Stark did end up killing her - by using a combination of gas and accelerant, ignited by her own power - but she showed herself to be very powerful before her death.
