10 Trailers That Should Make You Nervous About 2017's Biggest Movies

Gone are the days when a Transformers film meant shots of Megan Fox bending over a motorcycle in a pair of jean shorts and comical moments featuring small dogs humping things. No, Transformers is a dark, serious, and reflective franchise now, and the trailer for The Last Knight really wants you to know that.

There has been a lot of discussion regarding the bizarre tonal shift that this Transformers movie has taken, according to the trailers. And yet some of the franchise's biggest detractors have seen the footage and decide to give it a chance, presumably praying it will turn out to be the Fast Five of Transformers movies.

Don't be fooled by all the solemness that this trailer appears to be offering up, though. This trailer absolutely reeks of a forthcoming film that is going to prove embarrassing to sit through, so pretentious is the dialogue, so lacking are the actual human actors. You can't just hire Anthony Hopkins and get him to do a poignant voice-over and expect the rest of the movie to fall into place.

The scope of the film is ludicrous. There are shots of medieval warriors, Nazi Germany, a three-headed dragon Transformer, for God's sake, all of which will feature alongside scenes of city-wide destruction, car chases, people saying "Oh my God," and all the things you have come to loathe about Michael Bay.
