10 Trailers That Were Better Than The Film
7. Tron: Legacy
You know there's a problem with a film when the trailer has more heart, emotion and breathing room. Conventionally a trailer has the broad premise condensed into short clips making for a very quick edit so as to not give anything away. But Tron: Legacy's first trailer deliciously reels us in with a slow build before our hero arrives into the video game world, which is then it speeds up to feed us snippets of action.
Not much is given away, but enough is offered to us to peak our interest, which is the way a trailer should be. This, complimented with stunning visuals and an equally stunning Daft Punk track, was enough to make Tron: Legacy seem as if it was going to be the blockbuster of winter 2010.
Oh, how wrong we were, because instead of emotion and fascination we were given a laborious two-hour-plus glorified music video with very little of the depth or substance that was offered to us in the trailer.
