10 Trailers That Were Better Than The Film
8. Kick-Ass 2
The first Kick-Ass film kicked ass. The second, not so much. Granted, Matthew Vaughn jumping ship was never a good sign, but the trailer for Kick-Ass 2 promised more heart-stopping action sequences, comic book homages, and potty-mouthed antics from our favourite teenaged killing machine.
Unsurprisingly the film didn't quite live up to its predecessor, but that wasn't even the worst part. The worst part was the fact that Jim Carrey was very high up in the billing despite the fact that he hardly featured in half of the film. At this point Jim Carrey had been absent from our screens for too long, so to see him return to such a crazy franchise as an equally crazy character was a mouth-watering prospect.
Granted, those familiar with the graphic novel would not have been surprised by this, but the general movie-goers that perhaps would have bought a ticket solely to see their favourite 90s comedy movie star shoot bad guys (and then feel bad about it when out of character) left the multiplex feeling short-changed, which makes the trailer stink of false advertising - something that will crop up again in this list.
