Believe it or not, a ninth Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie has already been filmed, which as is now commonplace in played-out horror franchises, will ignore all the sequels, remakes, soft-reboots, and prequels, serving instead as a direct follow-up to the 1974 original.

The film, simply entitled "Texas Chainsaw Massacre," will be set in the present day and focus on two sisters who encounter a 60-year-old Leatherface, who the filmmakers are themselves referring to as "Old Man Leatherface."

Eighth Grade's Elsie Fisher will star, while Olwen Fouéré will appear as an aged version of the original film's protagonist, Sally Hardesty, due to actress Marilyn Burns' death back in 2014, and Mark Burnham will replace the late Gunnar Hansen as Leatherface.

The movie's production itself has been disconcerting to say the least, with original directors Ryan and Andy Tohill fired just a week into production and replaced with David Blue Garcia, though it was reported that production had been completed by March of this year.

It wouldn't surprise many if Texas Chainsaw Massacre ended up going direct-to-streaming later this year, given that the series hasn't seen major box office success since 2003's remake.
