10 TV Show Finales Fans Totally Rejected

Sitcoms often struggle to deliver satisfying finales because life just tends to go on more often than not - the protagonists rarely die nor is there much in the way of a true villain to vanquish.

There was never any chance that Larry David was going to deliver a conventionally syrupy final episode of Seinfeld, though, because for a series that prided itself on its prickly, morally dubious protagonists, it would seem completely disingenuous.

What he came up with didn't serve the fanbase much better, though, with the two-part finale seeing Jerry (Jerry Seinfeld), George (Jason Alexander), Elaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus), and Kramer (Michael Richards) put on literal trial for their moral transgressions throughout the series.

After mocking a man being mugged and ignoring a "Good Samaritan law," they're put on trial themselves, with a cavalcade of cast members returning to testify to their character (or lack thereof).

Though the idea of the four ending up in jail for their casual disregard of humanity has a perversely amusing quality to it, many fans were left unconvinced by the overall execution of the episode. It certainly wasn't bland or forgettable, but was it any good? As Larry David might say, "Ehh."
