2. Peter Jackson €“ Hot Fuzz

Another blink and you'd miss it cameo in the excellent Hot Fuzz from another talent associated with the Lord Of The Rings hailing from the other side of the world.

When we are introduced to Nicholas Angel at the start of Hot Fuzz, we get something of a flashback explaining his convictions to his duty and showing his wounding at the hands of a perp dressed as Santa Claus.

And even with the white beard, and the short screen time, it's quite obvious when you watch and rewatch that the man behind the manic eyes and stabby knife is none other than Peter Jackson. The New Zealand director is no stranger to cameos, having appeared in a good deal of his own films, but this would be the most notable time he did so for another director.

In the film's commentary star Simon Pegg claimed that when Jackson saw the limit of his cameo, he walked out of the theater and circled the hallway for the rest of the film in protest.
