10 Unbelievable Movie Facts That Are Somehow True
8. These Actors Have NEVER Been Nominated For An Oscar
Though winning an Academy Award is arguably the most prestigious honour a thespian can ever receive, just being nominated at the event is also a pretty cool and potentially life-changing moment.
In the case of this collection of unquestionably world-class performers, however, they have all somehow managed to go their entire careers (so far) without ever once being selected as a potential winner at an Oscars event.
That hasn't stopped them from earning a ton of acclaim and going down in history as some of the greatest to ever do it, but it is still incredible to note that someone like Val Kilmer - who boasts outstanding performances in the likes of The Doors and Tombstone - hasn't ever been nominated at the awards ceremony.
Then you have Donald Sutherland, a top-class actor who has been producing magic for over six decades(!) and still hasn't ever been nominated at the Academy Awards, despite superb performances in Klute and Ordinary People. Though he was given an Honorary Award in 2017, so that's something at least.
The legendary Kurt Russell - even with outstanding work in films like The Hateful Eight and Silkwood - has zero Oscar nominations to date, too. And as hard as it may be to believe, icons like Steve Martin, Ewan McGregor, Hugh Grant, and Meg Ryan each haven't earned a nod either. Madness.
