10 Unbelievably Boring Horror Movies
7. The Midnight Meat Train
The non-subtle and descriptive title of this film makes you go in believing that you will be getting an extraordinary experience which delivers on scares and gore. Well, one good thing that can be said about the project is that it isn't generic and does have a distinct identity. Unfortunately, that identity is still incredibly uninteresting.
The narrative follows a young photographer - played by Bradley Cooper - who begins to go further into his art form, capturing the real darkness of humanity. In his process of doing so, he ends up following a malicious serial killer.
This villainous lead figure is played by Vinnie Jones. While this performer has had some decent outings before - especially when paired with Guy Ritchie - his position as a horror movie villain is entirely unbelievable here. If anything, it's way more likely that you will giggle at the sight of him than be afraid.
The concept sounds almost like a David Fincher movie and has such potential. But it is ultimately an unsuccessful film that delivers nothing fun or frightening.
The twist ending does come completely out of nowhere, but by that point, your lack of investment will make it meaningless.
