10 Unbelievably Boring Horror Movies

6. Would you Rather

Bradley Cooper The Midnight Meat Train
IFC Films

It has to be said that a film with this premise never had the potential to be something big, but it at least could have had something to say. The film depicts the course of a night in which a rich aristocrat has brought together a group of people with financial difficulties to embark on a sadistic exploration of the game 'would you rather?'.

Rich people forcing desperate characters to challenge themselves for money can generate a story that demonises issues of class and wealth. But any semblance of that is lost in the mundanity of this film.

Movies like Saw gave filmmakers the idea to create gore-fest titles with simple ideas that can exploit some creative deaths. This film isn't even capable of doing that. The injuries and gore within the movie are entirely uninteresting and don't present us with anything challenging.

It never goes anywhere unexpected, excluding the ending, which is shocking but also a complete contradiction of the journey.

Alongside some other really poor narrative choices and a lack of anything interesting happening, this film ends up feeling like an entirely redundant experience.
