10 Under-The-Radar Films You Have To See In 2016

1. Green Room (Jeremy Saulnier)

After the critical success of Blue Ruin securing the interest of many a big producer, Jeremy Saulnier knocked back Hollywood with the force of a 12-gauge and instead plumped for violent semi-indie, Green Room - the addition of semi comes alongside a starring Patrick Stewart.

Taking a step outside the X-Mansion and then running across roughly ten genres, Stewart plays the leader of a neo-Nazi group who have hired punk band, That Ain't Rights, to play for them. The band witness evidence of a murder whilst waiting to go on stage, lock themselves in the green room backstage and await the police. That wait becomes unbearably long as said neo-Nazis turn violent, attempting to cut their tour considerably short.

All buzz around Green Room is overwhelming, but, in the meantime, track down Blue Ruin, give it another watch and remind yourselves just how exciting a talent Jeremy Saulnier is as a director - not to mention, one who would prefer to keep Hollywood at a distance for the sake of his vision... for now, at least.

Green Room is out in the US on April 29th and the UK on May 13th.
