10 Underdogs We're Rooting For At The Oscars

5. The Moon Song (Best Original Song - Her)

Karen O's The Moon Song is the only one of the four Best Original Song nominees that's really stuck in my head, and it's the only one I can actually associate with a particular moment in the film. It's a beautiful track, and though it easily outclasses the songs from Despicable Me 2 and Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, it's going to be beaten to the award by Let It Go from Disney's smash hit animated flick, Frozen. There is so little chance of Karen O winning, but as someone less-inclined towards bubblegum pop, it would be great to see the Academy go with something a little more thoughtful rather than a generic if catchy tune. As a slight consolation prize, however, Karen O will be performing the song live at the Oscars, which will serve as yet another reminder why it should unquestionably win the award.
