10 Most Underrated Actors In Hollywood

6. Michael Peña

One of Kendrick€™s co-stars in End Of Watch is practically the poster child for underrated actors. In David Ayer€™s documentary-style account of L.A. police on the beat, Michael Peña was given the unenviable task of sharing almost every scene with Jake Gyllenhaal, a man fast becoming recognised as one of the most gifted actors of his generation. That Peña more than held his own didn€™t surprise the critics and film fans who have watched the Mexican-American actor quietly make the most of supporting roles for years. Peña busied himself with bit parts in various TV shows and low-key films before finding himself in the cast of back-to-back Best Picture nominees. A minor role in 2004€™s Million Dollar Baby was followed by an emotional performance in Paul Haggis€™s controversial Crash, and Peña has since established himself as an ever-reliable supporting player of notable substance. True, some of his choices have been uneven, as evidenced by Observe and Report, 30 Minutes or Less and Gangster Squad, but Peña seems incapable of giving a bad performance, regardless of how his films turn out. His appearances in Babel, World Trade Center, Lions For Lambs and American Hustle all provided further evidence of an actor who should be better known, and the upcoming Ant-Man could take his career to the next level.

I watch movies and I watch sport. I also watch movies about sport, and if there were a sport about movies I'd watch that too. The internet was the closest thing I could find.
