10 Underrated Animated Movies You Have To See

1. I Lost My Body (2019)

I Lost My Body is the single most inventive and enthralling film on this list. The French surrealist drama follows a severed hand as it attempts to find its owner, an aspiring pianist who spends the film dealing with the grief of his parents' tragic death and his first taste of love.

The film is at once darkly hilarious - just the image of a hand running around is enough to make you smirk - and haunting, as young Naoufel (Hakim Faris in the original French; Dev Patel in the re-dub) navigates the complexities of his increasingly unlucky life.

Regardless of whether its breaking your heart or making you smile, I Lost My Body is above all else a startling imaginative feat, crafting a genuine and honest tale of loss and grief out of the most bonkers of premises.
