I get it, I get it. The Princess and the Frog received glowing reviews upon its 2009 release and even received three Academy Award nominations, including Best Animated Feature, but it still tends to be forgotten and here's why:

As great as the film is, here are some of the Disney animated features that followed it in the ensuing years: Toy Story 3, Tangled, Wreck-It-Ralph and, the alpha of them all, Frozen. It's no wonder that this tale from the bayou doesn't get as much attention as it should.

The Princess and the Frog just has so many redeeming qualities. Tiana is one of the stronger Disney princesses, whilst the entire supporting cast, namely Keith David's dark turn as Dr. Facilier, helps carry the movie to an engaging story and uplifting finish.

Throw in Randy Newman's excellent score and incredibly fun songs, and it's a wonder that The Princess and the Frog isn't discussed more often!
