10 Underrated Disney/Pixar Songs
4. On My Way - Brother Bear
Phil Collins has given us many great things in his time and one of his best was the soundtrack to Disney's Tarzan.
"Son of Man", "Two Worlds, One Family", "Strangers Like Me", "You'll Be In My Heart", the list of great songs in that film goes on and on.
The songs make the movie, there's no doubt about it, and Disney clearly agreed, as they got Phil back for second film.
That film was Brother Bear, Disney's 2003 movie about bears, hunters, and the American wilderness. Think The Revenant, but with far less blood and more Joaquin Phoenix as a talking bear.
Phoenix's character, Kenai, forms a bond throughout the film with bear foster brother, Koda, and part of that bonding process comes as they traverse the Alaskan countryside to the tune of "On My Way".
The song is simple, but very effective in telling the story of the two bears' journey. Its bright guitar isn't too far from a catchy folk melody and the song eventually incorporate drums, wind, and orchestral sounds to built to a big finish.
A fantastic toe-tapper that fits beautifully within the movie, "On My Way" might not be Tarzan good, but it's still good.
