Ben Wheatley's nasty hitman horror movie Kill List is a descent into darkness that's well worth a watch. Following a hired assassin that's taken on the role after a stint in the military, he that accepts on a job to kill three people for a huge payoff one year after a botched job. The relatively easy contract soon sends him on a downward spiral, with an amoral past coming to surface and blight his future.

Warping from a crime thriller into a visceral horror movie, the genre-melding magic of Kill List lies in its ability to move slowly through its narrative, drawing us in and making us wait as events purposefully unfold on screen. With a filmography that isn't particularly horror-heavy, Wheatley brings his expertise from a range of projects to Kill List to make it something exceptional from the norm.
