10 Unexpected Movie Deaths That Came Out Of NOWHERE

7. Bill Murray - Zombieland

Pulp Fiction
Columbia Pictures

Quite possibly the greatest meta moment of all time, Bill Murray playing a zombie in a zombie apocalypse movie is absolutely something audiences didn't know they needed until they were seeing it on their screens.

When the four heroes of the film, Columbus, Tallahassee, Little Rock and Wichita, arrive in Hollywood they decide to stop off at a mansion owned by Bill Murray. Tallahassee and Wichita meet the Ghostbusters star who is donning a fine zombie look in order to help him walk around town without being attacked by the actually infected zombies outside.

In a 'it was just a prank, bro' move, Murray decides to scare the other two members of the party by pretending to be infected and walk in on Columbus and Little Rock while they're watching Ghostbusters in his home cinema. However, almost as soon as he dares to grunt, Columbus picks up his shotgun and blasts a hole in Bill Murray before anyone can say anything.

The whole sequence is sudden, meta, hilarious and actually a little bit tragic for what is a comedy movie at the end of the day.
