8. Slytherin’s Aggression In Harry’s First Quidditch Match – The Philosopher’s Stone
Madame Hooch declares she wants ‘a nice, clean game’ at the start of Harry’s first Quidditch match, but as soon as the whistle blows, the Slytherins completely ignore her.
They kick and punch their way through their opposition with no mercy and manage to wipe out two of the Gryffindor players. Oliver Wood receives a Bludger to the chest and falls to the ground. And Angelina Johnson is sandwiched between two Slytherin players who force her to collide with one of the stands before she then smashes into the floor.
Despite her words at the start of the game, Madame Hooch does absolutely nothing to stop the violence. She doesn’t even make a reappearance until Harry catches the Snitch and ends the match.
All things considered, it’s a miracle no one died during Harry’s first Quidditch match.
