10 Unintentionally Hilarious Horror Movies

8. Sharks in Venice

Basket Case
Nu Image Films

You would think that the premise of this film would imply an incredibly mundane and straightforward survival title with some laughs here and there. But this movie takes a strange direction that includes a whole plot about Italian mobsters and lost treasure. It's far more ridiculous in its narrative than any other shark attack movie because it actually tries to make a plot.

Ever since Jaws, filmmakers have been generating shark movies. The plots are always simple, and since people love to watch the dangerous predators, they can typically generate a decent audience. Some have been good, such as The Bay, but the majority are entirely laughable.

Traditionally, these shark movies make no effort to be serious, but what's strange about this project is that it seems to really attempt to make something more than just a simple shark film. It wants to make something intriguing and scary.

With the premise of the title, you know that the concept is too ridiculous to make something compelling. But watching the editors and director try to generate scares with fast and furious cutting around shark stock footage, some awful CGI and an abysmally complicated narrative make any effort futile.
