10 Unintentionally Hilarious Moments In The Matrix Franchise

5. The Train Man Chase - The Matrix Revolutions

Alright, let's acknowledge something before we go any further - The Matrix Revolutions is the worst of the original trilogy, and it's sequences like this that contribute to the failure.

The search for Neo's trapped mind within The Matrix takes Morpheus, Trinity and Seraph back to The Oracle who through cigarette laced lips, tells them there's another random and new character to find in order to free Neo. The search party encounters The Train Man, and so begins a short chase sequence with some gloriously funny aspects.

Firstly, it's a sight to see a urine-stained vagrant run through the subway while three trench-coat mafia characters chase them in hot pursuit. With everything at stake, the sight of what we're watching in this scene is downright hilarious - even by Matrix standards.

Secondly, let's talk about not just how the characters look running in their billowy coats and sunglasses, but how hilarious Trinity is on those turnstiles. Trinity (God bless you!) doesn't move like a human at the best of times, so when she's in hot pursuit of her target, she can't help but show off and give us all a show as she cartwheels over the barricades while Morpheus and Seraph just jump over.

And when the Train Man flees; leaping past a running train and escaping to pastures unknown, the camera locks on the series secret MVP Seraph, and through his teeny-tiny tinted shades he whispers "Dammit" so elegantly and faintly, you have to wonder if his heart was ever in the chase to begin with.

I overthink a lot of things. Will talk about pretty much anything for a great length of time. I'm obsessed with General Slocum from the 2002 Spider-Man film. I have questions that were never answered in that entire trilogy!
