10 Unlikely Film Cameos From Punk & Nu-Metal Musicians

9. Simple Plan - New York Minute

Now, if you did mention Simple Plan earlier, you wouldn't be a million miles away. Aside from their Scooby-Doo soundtrack single, the band also appeared in an episode of the show, albeit on the small screen.

That said, Simple Plan are no strangers to the silver screen, with songs in Freaky Friday and Hot Chick, and the Canadian pop punkers did indeed have a cameo themselves in Mary-Kate and Ashley's New York Minute.

Not only do Simple Plan have a cameo in the feature, the entire movie is framed around Mary-Kate, portraying a rebellious Roxy Ryan, trying to get demo CDs to the band. The thrilling finale centres around a live Simple Plan performance in the middle of the Big Apple, and a rush for Mary-Kate to hand-deliver the demo to Canada's pop punk princes.

Spoilers, of course she manages to get the disc to the band eventually, and teen movies' most iconic twins end up on stage and interacting with Simple Plan.

As a bonus, just as we see Pierre Bouvier et al appear on stage in the film to perform B-side Vacation live in New York City, American Pie's Eugene Levy proclaims, "Simple Plan. They rock!"

They do indeed, Mr Levenstein. They do indeed.
