10 Unlikely Film Cameos From Punk & Nu-Metal Musicians
8. Papa Roach's Jacoby Shaddix - The Invited
Papa Roach's Jacoby Shaddix may be one of nu-metal's most recognisable faces, and acting most definitely isn't his Last Resort.
Shaddix recently played the supporting role in the absolute cameo-fest that is The Retaliators, but it wasn't the Papa Roach frontman's first outing. In fact, Shaddix had so much screen-time in Retaliators as Quinn Brady, you'd be hard-pushed to have him simply in this list as a "cameo" - and especially with the movie seeing appearances from the likes of Tommy Lee, members of The Hu, Ice Nine Kills, Escape the Fate, and Five Finger Death Punch.
Luckily, or perhaps due to experience, Retaliators wasn't Shaddix's big-screen debut. For his most unlikely cameo, you have to go all the way back to 2010 for The Invited.
To say this movie didn't uproot any trees would be a vast understatement, holding a Rotten Tomatoes score of 25% and just nudging a 4.1 on IMDd, but it's a must-see for any nu-metal fan purely to witness the voice of Papa Roach's acting prowess.
Despite it most definitely being a cameo, Shaddix gets a fair amount of air play in the movie as Thomas Walker, before shaving with an open blade sees him being cut into pieces. What follows next is suffocation, no breathing, and the audience definitely caring if he dies bleeding.
