10 Unlikely Film Cameos From Punk & Nu-Metal Musicians

7. Bowling For Soup - Crossroads

You likely weren't expecting to see Britney Spears' name on this list, but oddly enough, Britney's movie Crossroads makes it in - for a cameo from pop punk icons Bowling For Soup.

The Texan rockers, coincidentally, have also covered a Britney Spears song for another movie, Freaky Friday, but it was their own appearance in 2002's Crossroads that gives them their cameo on this list.

The movie sees Britney Spears and friends make a cross-country trip in a coming of age flick and, despite not being a silver screen classic, earned Spears critical acclaim as she starred alongside Kim Cattrall, Dan Aykroyd and Justin Long.

Bowling For Soup "performed" Greatest Day in the feature, and that's in inverted commas purely for how fleeting their appearance was. Singer and guitarist Jaret Reddick says it wasn't quite what he expected.

"Our movie debut wasn't quiet what we thought it was going to be. I was in that movie for about a second and a half... and the other guys ended up getting cut from the movie! But you've got to start somewhere and we decided to start very, very small."

Reddick did add that the band showed up "intoxicated from the flight" and missed the opportunity to meet Spears on set, but added that he thinks they'd have got on well.
