10 Unluckiest MCU Characters
6. Bucky Barnes
Bucky Barnes had always been a good man. He fought for his country, he never judged Steve Rogers when just about everyone else around him did, and he always stuck up for his friend. If he saw someone picking on the little guy you can bet that he would step in and put a stop to it.
He was also fearless, and as soon as Steve Rogers rescued him and his infantry as Captain America, he became the First Avenger’s biggest advocate and greatest follower. In spite of the dangers of the mission, he followed Steve to what should have been his death.
Anyone else falling from that train would have been killed instantly, but not Bucky. During his imprisonment, HYDRA was able to do enough to him to allow him to survive such a fall. This only led to more experiments and the creation of the Winter Soldier.
Imagine never being able to rest knowing that anyone saying a certain combination of words could turn your brain to mush again. Imagine having to live with the memories of what you’d done as the world’s greatest assassin, despite having absolutely no control over them. Until Ayo and Shuri cured him, and even afterward, Bucky’s life must have been non-stop pain and all because he somehow survived the fall that would have killed anyone else.
