4. Taken 2 (2012)

When Taken was released in 2008, it really took me by surprise. We had one man's quest for revenge after his daughter was kidnapped, with Liam Neeson killing everyone as brutally as he possibly could along the way. It was a fun watch for all the family. Taken 2 was the complete opposite of that. I sort of had some hope for it even before it being released, despite the the lack of originality (which is becoming a worryingly familiar trend in this article), was very clear. It was another kidnapping plot, but the main issue that this film had was the distinct lack of any sort of violence that the original did. It almost felt like it was a tame remake of the first, more than anything. This helps to make the film feel far less credible than the first and also causes what violence that's in it to feel far more comical. I'll always remember the scene where Neeson touches a man's face to kill him. Oh, and that scene was the payoff to the entire movie. Now there's talk of a Taken 3, after Taken 2 grossed $374,187,209 worldwide. No wonder.
