While many would have you believe that the Beskar-sporting badass that is Boba Fett actually rocked up for the very first time in the ill-fated 1978 Star Wars Holiday Special, the truth is even stranger than that.

That's because a whopping two months before said utterly surreal Holiday Special tortured the masses, the soon-to-be iconic bounty hunter actually strutted out alongside Darth Vader at the September 1978 San Anselmo County Fair parade. Though absolutely nobody in attendance quite rightly knew who or what in the galaxy the Mandalorian armour-wearing entity was!

As revealed in the Under the Helmet: The Legacy of Boba Fett on Disney+, however, it didn't matter that kids had no clue who this newcomer actually was, the fact he looked cool as all hell soon resulted in them flocking around the Empire Strikes Back baddie for an autograph.

In truth, George Lucas put it best in that very same documentary when confessing, "People like the bad guys." And despite not actually freezing a single smuggler at the time of his actual public debut, Boba already found a way to capture the imaginations of all who witnessed him.
