10 Unreleased Cuts Of Movies That Are Probably Terrible

6. Elvis: The 4-Hour Luhrmann Cut

Suicide Squad
Warner Bros.

Baz Luhrmann's recent Elvis biopic was largely lauded by critics for the director's splashy style and Austin Butler's possibly Oscar-bound performance, yet some criticism was also levelled at its brutal 159 minute runtime, which many found excessive and unearned.

But according to Luhrmann himself, you ain't seen nothin' yet.

While doing press for the film, the director confirmed - if not threatened - that a four-hour assembly cut of the movie exists.

While this cut of the film would've never been the one released in cinemas, it's entirely possible that Elvis' solid box office success drums up interest in that cut hitting streaming in the future.

After all, Luhrmann just finished re-editing his 2008 epic Australia into a longer miniseries version for Hulu, so Elvis could get a similar serialised treatment in the future.

But if there's anything Luhrmann's biopic needed, it certainly wasn't to be any longer. Quite the opposite, in fact, as neat as it'd be to see a little more of Butler's uncanny performance as the rock and roll icon.
