10 Unused Marvel Studios Concepts Which Need To Be Used In Future

Just because these ideas weren't used the first time around doesn't meant they won't be soon...

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige is a huge Star Wars fan - he's even producing an upcoming movie - and that means he grew up delving into the amazing concept art created by Ralph McQuarrie.

Because of that, concept art is understandably a huge part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and since day one, the studio has used artwork to hype up their releases (first looks at the Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers: Age of Ultron were revealed that way). When movies come out, so do books packed full of art, while the artists who work for Marvel frequently share their designs on social media.

Not everything ends up influencing what winds up on screen, of course, and there are some incredible, unused ideas which never make it beyond that pre-production stage. Sometimes, it's easy to see why they were overlooked, but there are a lot of ideas which definitely shouldn't have been ignored.

While it may seem like it's too late for those incredible pieces of concept art, there's no reason to suspect that they couldn't be used in any of the upcoming Phase 4 movies and TV shows...

10. Shuri As The New Black Panther

Chadwick Boseman's tragic passing has fans reeling, and with Black Panther director Ryan Coogler confirming that the sequel's screenplay revolves around T'Challa, there's a lot of uncertainty surrounding what Marvel Studios will do with the movie.

At this point, it's hard to even care what will happen given how sad Boseman's passing was, but with Black Panther such an inspiration to so many, the character is bound to live on in some form.

This concept art from 2018's Black Panther reveals that Shuri (Letitia Wright) was once set to race into battle in her brother's costume - with her gauntlets - during the movie's final battle. In the comics, Shuri does ultimately replace T'Challa as Black Panther, and this is obviously an option that's now open to Marvel Studios (rather than recasting Boseman).

This would be a great use of Shuri, an exciting way to continue the Black Panther legacy, and something comic book fans would definitely appreciate.
