10 Unused Superhero Movie Designs That Are Better Than What We Got

6. Gamora

James Gunn€™s Guardians Of The Galaxy is one of the most fun cinematic superhero experiences of all time. However, early designs suggest that the visual elements of the film could have leaned in a darker direction at one stage. Concept artist Andy Park came up with this intriguing version of Gamora, the character played by Zoe Saldana. Thanks to some darker hues of green on her skin, grubbier hair and black makeup, Park€™s version of Gamora looks much more sinister than the version from the finished film. Park€™s Gamora looks more like a daughter of Thanos and a subject of dark experimentations, and less like a generic sexy bad-ass. From a marketing standpoint, you can see why Marvel and Gunn veered away from dingier looks like this and settled on a more clean-edge take. It allows for a wider appeal and greater merchandising success, rather than pigeonholing the character into dark, family-unfriendly corner. But still, Park€™s Gamora looks damn cool.
