10 Unused Villains For DC Movies (And Who Should Play Them)

4. Nekron (Idris Elba)

If Warner Bros really wants to launch a Green Lantern franchise, they€™ll need more than one not-yet-seen-on-the-big-screen villain in order to pull it off. As well as the aforementioned antihero Atrocitus, the powers that be could possibly introduce Nekron. As the DC Comics€™ universe€™s embodiment of Death, few comic book villains are scarier than Nekron. Despite first appearing in 1981, Nekron€™s finest villainous hour came in the Blackest Night storyline in 2009-2010, which saw him attempting to destroy all existence. (Atrocitus and his gang played a core role in this arc, too.) The question of casting is a difficult one, though. The modern Nekron is skeletal facially, but has a broad frame beneath the neck. To create this, you€™d probably need a full CGI character. So, we're looking for an actor who could offer an intimidating voice and enough facial dexterity to provide a decent performance capture reference. Our choice would be Idris Elba, whose deep vocal tones could be truly frightening if the CGI was strong. He€™s shown a wide range of emotions in Luther and other projects, so he€™d be able to make this evil entity engaging, too. He€™s already been cast as the villain in Star Trek Beyond, though, so it may be difficult to get him on board.
