10 Unused Villains For DC Movies (And Who Should Play Them)
2. Anti-Monitor (Tobin Bell)
Of all the DC Comics bad guys, few have caused chaos on the same levels as Anti-Monitor. He was the antimatter-controlling super villain at the heart of the iconic 1985 miniseries Crisis On Infinite Earths, and was responsible for destroying multiple parallel universes, leaving only one version of reality standing. He was invented because DC wanted to streamline their confusing sprawling multi-verse, but Anti-Monitor still stood out as a memorable villain despite being dreamed up as something of a corporate necessity. Within the continuity of the comics, Anti-Monitor was an ancient evil being born from scientific meddling with the origins of the universe. More powerful than most other villains combined, Anti-Monitor boasted near-limitless abilities notably, he could absorb entire universes and warp reality to meet his will. It took united heroes from multiple parallel worlds to stop him, although it remains to be seen whether the DC movies have any sort of multi-verse. (Wouldnt it be great if alternate DC universes from film and TV could interlink?) Whether or not the inter-franchise crossover element was incorporated, youd still need a very frightening actor to voice Anti-Monitor. To convey all of Anti-Monitors power and threat, youd need a horror icon like Saws Tobin Bell. Using his proven flair for an evil voice, Bell could really sell the idea of a being hell bent on total death and destruction.
