10 Upcoming Animated Sequels No One Asked For

4. Ice Age 5

Ice Age: Continental Drift was (and remember this was a year that both Battleship and That's My Boy graced cinema screens) one of the worst films of 2012. Tossing out the semi-realism that had made the first film so endearing in favour of animal pirates riding an ice ship, the fourth film in the franchise completely misunderstands what humour is. There's vain attempts at parody that only go as far as the Scary Movie school of 'mentioning another film and fart' (minus the fart), while series saviour Scrat fails to get even a chuckle. That should really be enough to say why we don't need a fifth entry in this series (an honour which makes it the animated franchise with the most installments). Blue Sky, the animation house behind this and Rio, have been playing fourth fiddle in animation for a while, but they're not going to complete with Pixar or DreamWorks or Disney if they keep pushing things so far.
