4. I, Frankenstein (Jan 24, 2014)
Budget: $68 million
Predicted Box Office: $45 million
Why It's Going To Bomb: A $68 million Frankenstein reboot is essentially what this is, though shot through the prism of its graphic novel source material. Aaron Eckhart plays Adam Frankenstein, though will his name alone be able to make this one a success? Aside from Bill Nighy and Miranda Otto in supporting roles, there's not much going on here, and the only other film director Stuart Beattie has made is Tomorrow, When the War Began, which was an abject financial failure. Is there much of an audience for a gritty take on Frankenstein? I'm not so sure, and almost $70 million seems utterly excessive for that sort of vision.
