10 Upcoming Comic Book Films That Will Probably Be Terrible
10. Wolverine 3
Admittedly, the X-Men franchise has been in far ruder health over the past couple of years than it has in a long time. Between First Class and Days Of Future Past, almost all of the not-inconsiderable damage done by Brett Ratner's abominable X-Men: The Last Stand looks to have been undone. They were very much helped by having directors like Matthew Vaughan and Bryan Singer. Those are not the directors who will be working on the third Wolverine film though. Hugh Jackman's breakout character is the nominal star of the main X-Men films, so spinning him off into his own series of solo adventures rather felt like gilding the lily. Especially when the first two were so terrible, with The Wolverine only marginally exceeding X-Men Origins. Which means there's no real reason to expect the third outing to be better. Apparently The Wolverine director James Mangold will be returning, with a script from Green Lantern's Michael Green. Neither are particularly reasons to be cheerful. Even with Jackman giving what might be his final performance as Wolverine, this film will likely be average at best.
