10 Upcoming Comic Book Films That Will Probably Be Terrible
7. Bloodshot
Mainstream comic books are no stranger to a surprising resurrection nobody expected Captain America's faithful sidekick Bucky would re-emerge decades after his untimely death, and yet but it was a genuine shock to see the return of Valiant Comics. One of the most nineties of nineties publishers, the company officially died in 2004. After being bought by video game company Acclaim, however, they'd essentially been buried a good decade earlier. The original comics didn't date terribly well, being of the era of muscle-bound heavily-armed heroes, lots of pouches, and little plot to speak of. And yet they've been brought back mostly as they were, with some stellar creative teams on board. Despite all that, the idea of Bloodshot (an invincible soldier, thanks to millions of nanocomputers in his bloodstream which fix any wound) remains incredibly cheesy. But that's the first of several comic adaptations Valiant are planning in partnership with Sony. Expect it to be more direct-to-video Universal Soldier sequel than Winter Soldier.
