10 Upcoming Comic Book Films That Will Probably Be Terrible
4. Bananaman
There are a lot of unconventional superheroes out there. DC just brought Section 8, a team of do-gooders which includes Dog Welder (who welds dogs to enemies with a blowtorch). There's an alternate-reality Peter Parker who's a pig called Spider-Ham. The difference between those and regular superheroes? They don't usually get films. Bananaman is a character created specifically to make fun of traditional superheroes, regularly appearing in British kids comics The Dandy and The Beano. By day, he's schoolboy Eric Wimp; but by night, when he eats a banana he transforms into an adult caped crusader who can fly and has the strength of twenty men... twenty big men. The character was previously adapted in a cartoon during the eighties, which was repeated heavily on CBBC over the next decade. He's about to return in a big-screen film by Elstree Studios, and, well, unlike Batman V Superman it will actually be aimed at kids, but considering the state of most non-Pixar kids movies these days, don't expect much.
