10 Upcoming Comic Book Movie Decisions That Have Already Angered Fans
7. Edgar Wright Off Of Ant-Man
The Marvel Cinematic Universe runs like a well-oiled machine. At this point the studio has got a tried-and-tested template for producing flawless blockbusters which, so long as you don't notice how infuriatingly similar each of their movies can look at times, means that everybody wins! They have a formula, but it's a really fun one. Outside of the studio every seems to be chugging along nicely too. There's never any of the rumours about re-shoots or fired stars (everyone seems to have forgotten about Terrence Howard...) or directors, with the public perception of Marvel as being the happiest place on Earth. Then Disney bought them, just to bring it full circle. At least, that's how it was until fan-favourite director Edgar Wright got shunted off of Ant-Man, a project he'd been developing for the better part of a decade due to creative differences. And replaced by the guy who directed The Break-Up. Not quite the geek cred of Shaun Of The Dead and Hot Fuzz, is it?
