10 Upcoming Comic Book Movie Decisions That Have Already Angered Fans

5. Ben Affleck As Batman

Yes, people are still complaining about this. Just as they did when Daniel Craig was cast as James Bond, when Andrew Garfield was cast as Spider-Man, when David Tenant was replaced by Matt Smith in Doctor Who...people just don't like change, but nerds especially. It doesn't help if you've played a superhero before, either. Surprisingly, people didn't kick off quite so much when Chris Evans made the considerable leap from those crummy Fantastic Four movies to the far superior Captain America franchise. But that might be because the Fantastic Four wasn't Daredevil, and didn't involve Evans being a culture pop icon married to Jennifer Lopez. Affleck has rehabilitated his public image considerably since Jennifer, Jersey Girl and Gigli, thanks to work behind the camera on Argo and Gone Baby Gone €“ people still think of him as that putz from Daredevil, though, and the idea of him as an €œolder€, moodier Batman isn't selling them either.
