10 Upcoming Comic Book Movie Decisions That Have Already Angered Fans

3. Avengers 3 Split Into Two Films

Marvel, meanwhile, haven't taken DC's challenge lying down. Not long after the rather somewhat anti-climactic Warner Bros announcement (a list of their upcoming films leaked after a meeting with investors), Marvel put on a whole big song-and-dance about what they have in store for the next phases of their Cinematic Universe, showing clips and revealing cast members. One such announcement was that, following this summer's Avengers: Age Of Ultron, they would be rounding out the trilogy with Avengers: Infinity War. Nobody was particularly surprised €“ they'd been building up to a conflict against the mad titan Thanos, with the Infinity Stones appearing since the first Captain America €“ but they were surprised by the release schedule. Because, in true Young Adult adaptation fashion/Peter Jackson money grabbing scheme, they're planning on splitting the Infinity War up into two films. Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 drops on May 4, 2018, with the next one hitting a whole year later. That's an interminable wait. And two long films. And twice as much money out of fans' wallets.
