1. Thanos - The Avengers 2
Thanos was the surprise villain revealed at the end of The Avengers 2, presumably the puppet-master pulling all the strings, and so far leaving us in the lurch as to when he might re-appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The smart money is on next summer's Guardians of the Galaxy, leading into an epic showdown in The Avengers 2. Bringing the character to the screen serves up its share of challenges; firstly, the character is so ridiculously powerful - capable of manipulating mass at an unimaginable scale, and also being a scientific genius far beyond anything we know on Earth - that it's going to take some immense force to stop him, and also, who the Hell are they going to cast? It's been widely accepted that the virtually unknown actor who played Thanos in The Avengers will not be returning to the role, yet at the same time it's not exactly a role that requires an A-list name, given that the actor is going to be under masses of make-up and CGI.
