2. Ava Lord - Sin City: A Dame to Kill For
Ava Lord isn't strictly a straight-up
villain per se, more an anti-hero, a femme fatale who uses her sexuality to get what she wants, manipulating men who are helpless to her every whim. She is almost constantly broached between two men, her hulking manservant Manute (previously played by the late Michael Clarke Duncan, and re-cast as Dennis Haysbert) and her ex-lover Dwight (formerly played by Clive Owen, re-cast as Josh Brolin), the former of whom worships her, and the latter of whom realises her manipulative nature, but remains powerless against it. Eva Green is a
perfect casting choice for Ava Lord; she possesses the innate sexiness needed to sell the role (who
wouldn't want to help her?), and the only question that remains is whether she has the presence to carry it off, but given how she was the only bright spark as the sexually charged baddie in Dark Shadows, I firmly suspect she can.
