7. New Mutants

On the surface, The New Mutants is a fine idea for a spinoff. Josh Boone (The Fault In Our Stars) is at the helm and it gives Fox the chance to explore a different side of the X-Men Universe by focusing on lesser known - but equally as interesting - set of characters. The problem is, the majority of X-Men fans believe that Fox has yet to get the main cast right, something it's unclear whether X-Men: Apocalypse will fix or not. Choosing to focus on The New Mutants when the main X-Men franchise hasn't quite been fully perfected might not be the smart, and knowing Fox, could be just a cameo filled mess. Another problem with The New Mutants being announced is the fact that it's not the movie that the majority of fans wanted to see. That was X-Force, and so there's already at least some resentment towards this project for getting the green light before that spinoff has.
