10 Upcoming DC Movies And The Comics They'll Adapt

The upcoming Flash movie is another one of the oddballs on this list, but for an entirely different reason than the other oddball movies. Rumors have been floating around since it was announced back in 2014 that the Flash movie would be adapting 2011’s Flashpoint event. Which doesn’t make a lot of sense considering that the events of Flashpoint replaced all existing DC continuity up until that point with the New 52 continuity.

Now a lot of fans (myself included) were thrilled with the idea that the upcoming Flash movie would be used to reboot the DCU, that was, until Aquaman and Shazam were released and exceeded all expectations. How would Warner Bros. and DC manage to adapt Flashpoint without rebooting their everything?

Reboot only the movies they regret like Batman v. Superman and Justice League maybe? Except, rebooting only those properties with nothing else being affected makes no sense, and choosing to have Ezra Miller’s Barry Allen travel back in time only for the end results to be have no repercussions would only cheapen the film as a whole.

Hopefully I’m wrong and Warner Bros. and DC see the potential risks of adapting a time traveling centric storyline for their character’s first solo outing and instead rely on any of the dozens of great Flash stories by incredible writers such as Mark Waid, Grant Morrison, Geoff Johns, Francis Manapul, and current Flash writer Joshua Williamson.
