9. Inside Out
One studio whose overall quality of product seemed to deteriorate after being swallowed up in the giant Disney movie-making factory was Pixar - in recent years their releases have felt lazy and unpolished, at least when you compare them to their very best films. There's a good chance, however, that this could have been little more than a momentary blip, and the line-up for the next couple of years certainly seems to indicate that we could be in for a return to form. First up is Inside Out, which tells of a young girl moving house who has to deal with her emotions in personified form, with Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear and Disgust all vying for her attention. It's certainly a concept with great potential for some surreal moments and witty insights into human behaviour, and with Pete Docter at the helm there's good reason to be optimistic, since he directed Up, one of the best Pixiar movies in recent years.
