10 Upcoming Film Blockbusters We've Already Given Up On

4. Horrible Bosses 2

Release Date: November 26, 2014 For some reason, Horrible Bosses made $209 million dollars at the box office. That's impressive for any movie, but even more so for a comedy, and even more so for a comedy that was - for all intents and purposes - pretty poor. A film featuring an interesting premise and good actors, most of whom were wasted, this is exactly the kind of comedy that - inherently speaking - does not deserve a sequel. A sequel to Horrible Bosses, quite literally, makes no sense at all: there's no justifying any way in which the story beats of this movie need to happen all over again. Ever. And so the plot synopsis goes: "Fed up with answering to higher-ups, Nick, Dale and Kurt (that's Jason Bateman, Charlie Day and Jason Sudeikis) decide to become their own bosses by launching their own business. But a slick investor soon pulls the rug out from under them." All right, so they've managed to find a way to make the "bosses" part of the title work, and there's probably going to be a scene where one of the guys - let's say, Jason Sudeikis - tells another one of the guys - let's say, Charlie Day - that he's being "horrible." But given how painfully unfunny the majority of the jokes in Horrible Bosses were - not to mention racist and homophobic - who really cares? Fact is, out of all of the movies on this list, Horrible Bosses 2 is the one pick that we feel truly justified in "giving up on" before having seen it: the first movie wasn't good anyway, and what comedy sequels do you know that are better than the originals (or even on par with them)? And the same screenwriters are back for this one, too! What fun.
