10 Upcoming Film Reboots Nobody Asked For

1. Gremlins

Gremlins Look at that face. It's adorable beyond words, even when it's sad. It's even more adorable when it's happy, though. You wouldn't want to make it sad, would you? No, because you're not an evil person. But Hollywood producers and studio execs aren't bothered about those connotations, given that they're planning to reboot the Gremlins franchise, which is making poor old Gizmo distraught. Shame on them. It seems that Hollywood won't give up until every single cult film of the '80s has been remade to disastrous effect. Luckily, we don't know too much about this particular attempted reboot, except for that it's highly unlikely that Joe Dante will return to direct (shame) and Bloody Disgusting reported that Seth Grahame-Smith has been hired to write it, best known for unleashing the reboot of Dark Shadows and Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter onto our poor unsuspecting souls. To make matters worse, there are also rumours that the film will be made in - hold your breath - 3D. The prospect of seeing a CGI Gizmo alone was enough to make me hate the world, but now the possibility that he might be in dark, dull "three dimensions" fills me with unrestricted rage. Gremlins, and its not brilliant but still good sequel New Batch, are imbued with a quality, love and charm to that is still able to enchant new viewers to this day. They may have been made almost 30 years ago, but what sort of cold-hearted child could watch it and not fall in love with Gizmo and want one for themselves? So, yes, it's the idea of a Gremlins reboot/remake/whatever this is going that tops this list of potential reboots and remakes and therefore angers me the most. Grrrr. Have I missed a film out that you would have featured in the top 10? Or maybe you disagree with me on a certain film, and are in fact excited by the prospect of a 3rd xXx film? If so, write in the comment box below so that I can laugh at you.
