10 Upcoming Film Sequels And Reboots That Nobody Wants (But Will Make Money Anyway)

5. Ouija: Origin Of Evil

Ouija was one of the worst reviewed movies in Platinum Dunes’ history, no small feat for the production company that remade The Hitcher, Friday The 13th and A Nightmare On Elm Street. It was also very profitable, making $100 million worldwide on a $5 million budget, so this Halloween brings more of the same.

One of the biggest problems with the original – aside from it being a glorified toy commercial – was that it was exactly the same as every other kids-with-a-ouija board movie you’d ever seen, only less fun. They even threw in an ending where (spoiler alert) the heroes thought they’d destroyed the board, but it came back the very next day, they thought it was a goner but it wouldn’t stay away.

Plot details are scarce enough to make you wonder if the movie has an actual plot, though producer Jason Blum has promised that the sequel will be very different. Given the amount of young faces in the cast, that’s very difficult to believe.
