10 Upcoming Films You'll See Even If The Reviews Are Terrible
6. Star Wars Episode VII
Release Date: 18th December, 2015. What's It About: The one film no one thought would ever happen, the world has just about calmed down from the announcement back in 2012 that Disney had bought Lucasfilm and pushed Star Wars Episode VII into production. Helmed by J.J. Abrams (whose Wars-y Star Trek films were the perfect run up to this), the film reunites the original key cast as well as adding some young blood to the mix (Girls' Adam Driver, Inside Llewyn Davis' Oscar Issac and mo-cap supremo Andy Serkis were amongst the newcomers announced back in April). Recent story rumours (potential spoilers follow) suggest that the film will pick up thirty-odd years after Return Of The Jedi, with Luke Skywalker MIA and the lightsaber he lost at the end of Empire returning as a key plot device. Sounds a little silly to us, but in J.J. we trust. Why You'll See It: Because it's a new Star Wars, duh.
