10 Upcoming Horror Movie Rumours We Hope Are True

First, what we know for sure: After the untimely death of series creator and horror legend Wes Craven in 2015, rumours of a fifth Scream instalment seemed vanishingly unlikely. Meanwhile, the critically disliked MTV adaptation seemed to put a further end to any potential big screen return for Ghostface.

However, it's since recently been confirmed that WWE superstar/ series favourite David Arquette will play the loveable Dewey in Scream 5, the upcoming sequel from the helmers of last year’s sleeper hit horror comedy Ready or Not. Meanwhile, series star and iconic horror heroine Neve Campbell has hinted in an interview last month that she will also be returning to reprise her iconic role as Sidney Prescott in the film, and is currently in talks to confirm her starring part in the fifth flick.

But since the late, great Wes Craven noted that Scream 4 fan favourite Hayden Panettiere was never officially killed off, could it be possible that the Nashville star will make a return as tough horror nut Kirby?

Only time will tell, but the creator's comments certainly leave the possibility open...
